Last year, thanks to your generosity, Simon Clark raised nearly £26K for Ecologia with his 340-day, 5100-mile Just A Little Run Around Britain. On Aug 1st, to mark the Year of Young People 2018, Simon will set off again!
Starting in Dublin, he plans to complete a 2,000-mile, clockwise expedition around the Irish coast, to raise more funds for our work with brave youngsters needing our support to build better, meaningful lives. And this time he is also inviting others to join him:
The journey’s essence is to travel lightly on foot along the land edge wilderness, each night spent in a different place. With minimal planning, we will camp in bivvy bags and stay with friends, both known and unknown. Some may run, some walk, together or apart, to meet at the end of a 20-25 mile day, 6 days per week. It’s a test of mettle and resolve, how enlivened mind and body cope; an affirmation of elemental timelessness; the thrill of freedom; a moving, roaming-like-a-goat adventure, in all weathers, alongside our sisterly sea. As modern life becomes more sanitised and sedentary, it’s an opportunity for a low intensity, wild, character shifting, spiritual high.
Running for Ecologia expands our mission, moves people’s hearts and inspires them to help, so please join me, either on foot along this alluring, mesmerising coastline, or by following my story on Facebook and Ecologia’s website. Help us raise £10k+ for children and young people in need.
All best wishes, Simon
