Volunteer in Russia at a Village of Foster Families
A unique opportunity to volunteer in Russia in a rural village community, home to foster families dedicated to giving children who have had a traumatic start in life a real chance at a better future. They are wonderful places in which to live, work, and contribute to enriching the lives of orphaned and abandoned children.
Volunteers are warmly welcomed into a safe, homely environment. As well as being a highly rewarding experience, volunteering provides an excellent opportunity to improve your Russian language and experience Russian culture, while living as part of a Russian community.
As a volunteer, you can become involved in:
- Teaching English to the children. Don’t worry if your Russian is not so good – most of the residents speak English too!
- Supporting the children and the community, through participating in the daily activities like cooking, cleaning, gardening, maintenance work, music, crafts and games.
- Helping to look after the children and sharing your hobbies and skills.
The time you spend with the children will make a positive impact on their learning and development, and you can enjoy an experience you will cherish forever.
Who can volunteer?
All ages are welcome – you might be a Gap Year or Russian Language student, a social worker, or a mature volunteer seeking a career break.
We have arranged placements for over 350 volunteers and youth visitors from all over the world and we welcome applications from people from all walks of life!
