The children at Kitezh like to think of their sponsors as Godparents. Sponsoring a child and becoming a 'Godparent' to one of the children is a wonderful way to support Kitezh Children’s Community. However, it’s more than just about money - the key is to develop a friendship with your God Child that can last a lifetime.
Most of our fostered children had very hard times before they came to Kitezh. When you sponsor a child, you give him or her the chance to broaden their horizons and develop their self-esteem by letting them feel that someone in the world cares about them.
At least once a year, each child writes or draws a letter to their Godparent and we will send you an update on his or her progress. Building a relationship is important.

How you can participateThere are many ways you can engage with your God child, and it’s up to you how much you do. You can send letters, emails or postcards, and perhaps a small birthday gift to let the child feel special and cared for. Your God child might have a specific need, maybe a pair of boots or a new winter coat.
Higher Education is now more expensive than ever, so you might consider starting an Education Fund for him or her for when it is time to leave Kitezh and Orion.
And maybe one day the two of you can meet in person!
It costs roughly £1,500 a year to support a child at Kitezh, and we suggest you contribute at least £20 per month, although you can contribute as much as you wish.

How to become a GodparentThe Kitezh children love having Godparents from other countries, so if this appeals to you, please let us know and we'll send you profiles of the new children and their foster families.
It's easy to set up a Standing Order for your God child.
In time, you might consider including your God child in your Will. We can tell you how to do that with little effort for you.

New children hoping for GodparentsDasha aged 8 has recently arrived at Kitezh. She joined Sergey & Zhenya's family with Sasha and Alina, their foster children. She likes DRAWING mainly; plays girly games; likes acting, standing in front of the mirror like a little princess. Also she likes sports & yoga. She is sociable and chooses to help in the kitchen rather than be in the kindergarten. She will be in class 1 (her reading is very poor at present). She's a very gentle, careful child and gets on well with her new brother and sister.
